First, you have to turn both of these into improper fractions.

1 2/3 = 3/3 + 2/3 = 5/3

1 3/4 = 4/4 + 3/4 = 7/4

Now we have 5/3 divided by 7/4, and remeber if you want to divide to fractions you multiply by the reciprocal.

So we flip the second fraction.

$$\frac{5}{3} \times \frac{4}{7}$$

Then multiply the tops and bottoms together.

$$\frac{5 \times 4}{3 \times 7} = \mathbf{\frac{20}{21}}$$
