Would you ever use the following method for alt-base subtraction, or would you recommend another way? http://www.sonoma.edu/users/w/wilsonst/courses/math_300/groupwork/altsub/base.html

Well, I've grown up just adding 10 to the smaller number and subtracting 1 from its preceding number. This just seems a bit more complex, but it's the same process, albeit in a different manner. Then again, I've just about always worked in decimal and rarely need to do math in other bases. But, if I ever need to, I guess I'd use this.
