Is there a question here?    Solve for X maybe?

x = (y-3)/2 = y/2 - 1.5

I can show you how to solve for both x and y...

y = 2x - 3

We must always, if doing it to one, do something to another.

Let's solve for x first.

Add 3 to each side...

y + 3 = 2x

And divide by 2 on each to make 2x just x...

y/2 + 1.5 = x

x = 1/2y + 1 1/2

We can also solve for y...

y = 2x - 3

After thinking about it for a second, I just realized that the solution is

y = 2x -3

Huh. I guess you're looking for x. cheeky

In that case, then the answer is, as said by Guest...

x = 1/2y + 1 1/2
