x = (y-3)/2 = y/2 - 1.5

Add 3 to each side...

y + 3 = 2x

And divide by 2 on each to make 2x just x...

y/2 + 1.5 = x

We can also solve for y...

y = 2x - 3

After thinking about it for a second, I just realized that the solution is

y = 2x -3
