You spin the pointer on a spinner that has 8 numbers on it. What is the probability that the pointer will stop on a number less then 4?
I suggest waiting till someone more qualified arrives mate, but i'm guessing 1/2
Yeah thats what I got when I divided 4 and 8 and got 1/2 but like you said hopeing one of the guys who normally gives a 100% correct answer to either tell me we are right or wrong.
Well...I don't get "everything" 100% correct.....(far from it), but if the numbers are 1 - 8, notice that 3 of them are less than 4, namely, 1, 2 and 3. And 8 different outcomes are possible. But since we're interested in only 3 of them, the probability that we spin a number less than 4 is just : 3/8
