Standard form is Ax + By = C.....so....multiply through by 3....this gives

3y = 2x + 21     now.......subtract 3y and 21 from both sides...this gives

 - 21 = 2x - 3y  ..... or......2x - 3y = -21

And that's in standard form

OK....no prob.....

Gotta be careful here, Mathematician...

What you are doing is evaluating  -5^4 and -5^2

But.......what we should be doing is evaluating (-5)^4  and (-5)^2

See the difference??? 

Remember, "x" is like a box that is holding something.....the sign on "x" is outside the box.... 

This just evaluates to a number.....we don't have inverses for numbers....that term only applies to functions....

This says that we want to put 5  into the function and evaluate the result. Then, we want to put -5 into the function and evaluate that result. Then, we want to subtract the second result fom the first.

However, 5 and -5 put into the first two terms give the same result..and subtracting like results = 0....so we can ignore these

And putting 5 into the last term = 25   .....and -5 into the same term = -25

So   25 - (-25) = 25 + 25 = 50

We can't have a denominator with equalling 0.

Notice in the first fraction that -8 makes the denominator 0

Nothing makes the second denominator 0.

In the third fraction, -2 makes the denominator 0.

So, in terms of real numbers, the domain is  (-∞, -8) U  (-8, -2) U (-2, ∞)

I was assuming that we knew everything but the radius.......

Sorry, Mathematician......that was a mistake on my part......just post any reply to this....and I'll give you 3 points  (I already went back and wiped out the -1)

If we know the Volume, we can solve for the radius

V = pi X r^2 * h     divide both sides by pi * h

V /( pi * h) = r^2     take the positive square root of both sides

√[V /( pi * h) ]  = r

If we know the lateral surface area......we can do this

Sa = 2*pi*r * h     divide both sides by 2* pi *h

(Sa) / [ 1 * pi *h]   = r

The cube root of x can be written as    x^(1/3)

So, this raised to the 57th power is .... [ x^(1/3)]^57     and by a property of exponents (a^m)ⁿ = a^m*n

So we have   [ x^(1/3)]^57 = x^(1/3)*57  =  x¹⁹
