Set yourself up a little equation and solve it :)

find the value of dy/dx when x=1  (a are constant)

i)y=(√x-3)(√x-4)  *only the x are under the square root

\(y=3(4x^{-1}-2x^{-2})\\ y'=3(-4x^{-2}+4x^{-3})\\ y'(1)=3(-4+4)=0\)

\(\frac{a^9}{a^8}\\ =a^{9-8}\\ =a^1\\ =a\)

or

\(\frac{a^9}{a^8}\\ =\frac{aaaaaaaaa}{aaaaaaaa}\\ =a\\ \mbox{All the other a's cancel out}\)

You cannot solve it because it has 2 unkown, X and Y

I like Doc Martin too but I have never even heard of Doctor Blake.  That is kind of strange isn't it, but I do not watch much TV.

Why is our pi so short???     I don't know, here are some possibilities

1) It is a short crust pie.

2) When it was a little pie it did not have enough growth hormone.

3) Someone put books on its circumference and it got squashed.

Anyone have more ideas??
