Very interesting question. No high level maths required.
This question was posted a couple of days ago.

I think it is really interesting. It looks much more difficult than it really needs to be.

Some guidelines for question askers.
Please note:
1) Ask only one question per post.
2) When asking a question talk about what you have tried for yourself. Then people will take you more seriously and will be more able and willing to help.
3) If you get an answer

I don't know what you mean AND you cannot take the log of a negative number.

When you multiply fractions first right them upright, not sideways like you have to on the computer.
then, simpliy multiply the tops and put the answer on the top
and multiply the bottoms and put the answer on the bottom
(1.2/294.15) ( x / 838.15)
top 1.2*x
bottom 294.15 * 838.15
answer =[ 1.2 / ( 294.15 * 838.15) ] x
I haven't explained very well but hopefully you can understand.

The question is in Portugese, this is the translation.
What is the number 1283 in scientific notation?
You need just one non-zero digit in front of the point so it'll start with 1.283
1283 is a big number, bigger than 1 so the power will be positive
now the point moved 3 places so the power is +3
so
1.283 * 10
3
If it was a little number, smaller than 1, it would have been a negative power.
NOW FOR THE PORTUGESE TRANSLATION (from google) I hope it makes sense.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I haven't finished it but you start by using the identity
tan(a+b) = [tan(a) +tan(b)] / [1- tan(a)tan(b)]
Do the substitution, then use arc sin
dont forget to consider the angle restrictions.

first, there is no e on the mathematical pi.
4 times pie =s+5pie
4pi =s+5pi
you just need to subtract 5pi from both sides to get the value of s.

huh?
do you mean
asin 0.5 =
or in another calc maybe
inv sin 0.5 =
You do need to make sure your calculator is set to degrees or radians - whichever you are working in.
The answer to this is 30 degrees because
sin 30 degrees = 0.5

f(x)=480(0.83)^t t=5
I think you have made a copy error
it should be
f(t)=480(0.83)^t t=5
f(5)=480(0.83)
5
[/sup]
= 189 animals

I'm sorry I don't understand what you are asking. Your question doesn't make sense.
An interval is not a point. 0 could be the beginning or end of an interval but it cannot be an interval.

ok first
(2+h)

=(h+2)
3
=(h+2)(h+2)(h+2)
=(h+2) (h
2
+4h+4)
= h
3
+4h
2
+ 4h + 2h
2
+ 8h + 8
= h
3
+6h
2
+ 12h + 8
This is not the whole question of course, hopefully you can so the rest of the simplifying yourself
I am actually wondering if the question is copied correctly, you have =1 are you sure it is not =0 ?
