Hi all, 

Sorry, I have not been around much the last couple of days.  Today I was at the beach.  It is beautiful weather in Sydney at present.  

I have made sure that everyone has been given credit for their answers though.  Our wonderful answerers have been Alan, NinjaDevo, geno3141, Rosala, Asassyninja, CPhill, Dragonslayer 554, aoanewbie, AzizHusain, Math and Quinn.  A huge thanks to each of you.

Any number that can be written as a fraction can be written as a terminating or recurring decimal.

$${\frac{{\mathtt{3}}}{{\mathtt{7}}}} = {\mathtt{0.428\: \!571\: \!428\: \!571\: \!428\: \!6}}$$

Depending on what country you are in this can be written in differerent ways.

But anyway the 428571 will keep repeating for ever.

Any real number raised to the power of 0 is 1   (except for 0 and infinity, infinity is not really a number anyway)

okay so

$$\\10^2\div 10^2=10^{2-2}=10^0\\\\
but\\\\
10^2\div 10^2=100\div 100=1\\\\
so\\
10^0=1\\\\
ALSO\\
\frac{10^3}{10^3}=\frac{1000}{1000}=1 $ But it also equals } 10^{3-3}=10^0\\\\
$ So again $ 10^0=1$$

Most calcs won't do that - you have to change like geno did first.

With the web2.calc you can do it straight out!  

Okay Rosala let's think about this.

FIRST: You tell me if you agree with these statements.  

$$\\10^8\div 10^3=10^{8-3}=10^5\qquad&(1)\\\\
\frac{10^9}{10^4}=10^{9-4}=10^5\qquad(2)\\\\$$

Which graph best represents tan (x/2) = y?

Let's think about this a bit.

$$\\tan\frac{x}{2}=\frac{sin\frac{x}{2}}{cos\frac{x}{2}}=0\\\\
$Well if $sin\frac{x}{2}=0 $ then this will be true $\\\\
\qquad \qquad $NOTE: When $ sin\frac{x}{2}=0, \;\;cos\frac{x}{2}=\pm1\\\\
sin\frac{x}{2}=0 $ when $ \frac {x}{2}=0,\pi,\2pi, 3\pi, .....\\\\
$multiply both sides by 2$\\\\
x=0,2\pi,4\pi,6\pi,........$$

The answer is C.

It is good to remember CPhill's answer but I have given you an explanation.    

Order is another rearly used name for exponent or power .  I think of it as being the O in power Of.

BODMAS is the same as PEDMAS
