First, apply PEMDAS, then group the factors with the same coefficients together (x^2 goes with x^2, which there are none, x goes with x, et cetera), then do the divide and conquer thingie, except watch your convention signs.

Here's how: 1.110 * 1000 -1.12x - 1.1x - x = (1.110 * 1000) - (1.12x + 1.1x + x) = 0

So that's: 1110 - 3.22x = 0

Solve it and you should get 344.7205, rounded off to the 4th decimal place.

1.110 x 1000 – 1.12 x – 1.1x -x=0

This comes to 1110.98x=0

Divide both sides by 1110.98

You get x=0
