1/12 + 1/50

Here's an easy way to do this (we'll have to reduce at the end)

Cross-multiply the 50 in one denominator with the 1 in the other numerator. Then do the same with the 12 in the other denominator with the 1 in the other numerator. Then, add these two results

So we have   50*1  + 12*1 = 62

Now, put this result over the product of the denominators = 12*50 = 600

So we have

62/600   reduce this by dividing the numerator and the denominator by 2......this gives us...  31/300 .....and there's your answer !!!
