You can use a common denominator of 12. You will need to multiply each fraction by a special form of the number 1 as to not change each number's value. Mulitply 1/2 by 6/6 to obtain the 12 denominator. use 3/3 for 1/4 and 4/4 for 1/3. Once your numbers have common denominators, add the numerators (tops) and put the answer over 12.
