You could break it up into 8 parts: 1/2 x 1/2 x 1/2... and so on. Or you do it an easier way. (1/2)^8 is multipling each component 8 times. Like 1^8 / 2^8 and that equals 1/256

(1/2)^8 =1^8/2^8 =1/256
