1/3x=9

If the problem is (1/3)x=9:  solve this way   3(1/3)x = 9*3       1x = 27      x = 27

If the problem is (1/3x) = 9; solve this way  3x(1/3x) = 9(3x)      1 = 27x    1/27 = 27x/27   1/27 = x
