1/6d+2/3=1/4(d-2), solve for d

1/6d+2/3=1/4(d-2)  multiply both sides by 4
4[1/6d + 2/3] = (d - 2)
4d/6 + 8/3 = d - 2 Use GCD of 6 on the LHS.
[4d + 16]/6 =d - 2 Cross multiply
4d + 16 = 6d - 12  Subtract 4d from both sides
16 = 2d - 12       Add 12 to both sides
16 + 12 = 2d
2d = 28            Divide both sides by 2
d =28/2
d = 14
