I do it a little differently.

10% of 20       now 10%=10/100    and   of is multiply *

so this becomes

10/100 * 20 = 1/10*20 = 2

to find this answer, you put the numbers into a proportion

10/100 = x/20

now cross multiply

100x = 200

now divide by 100 on both sides

x = 2

and there's your answer
