This is pretty easy.
1. Since every numerator is 14.4, divide both sides by that amount. This leaves 1/x = 1/20 - 1/100
2. Both terms on the right side can be evaluated so 1/x = 0.05 - 0.01 = 0.04
3. If 1/x = 0.04, then x = 1/0.04 = 25

To solve 1 algebraically, multiply both sides by 100x, producing 100 = 5x - x = 4x, so x = 100/4 = 25
