16e^x-5=13    add 5 to both sides

16e^x = 18       divide both sides by 16

e^x = 18/16  =  9/8      take the ln of both sides

ln e^x  = ln(9/8)    and by a log property, we can write

x lne  = ln(9/8)     and lne = 1   so we have

x = ln(9/8) = about .1178
