+1315 Admin Mr. Massow is referring to the George Orwell novel Nineteen Eighty-Four. There is a character in there who wonder if the state power say this is true and everyone believe it will it make it true.
+118613 1984 by George Orwell is a very famous book Hayley and Coldplay. It is dated now as I think it was written in 1948. (that might be wrong, I just have that in my head)
Anyway it is only a little book and very readable and older people refer to it ALL the time. It is quite thought provoking. It is written about a possible future where the gov't know all and people are very controlled. SOME of the things in the book have become reality. Others, not so much.
If you read at all I think that you should put this one on your list :)
