write an equation passing through the point and parallel to the given line (-2, 3);      y= -1x + 4

 

Well the gradient will be 1.

so ther are lots of ways to do it now.

I like  to say

gradient = gradient

$$1=\frac{y-3}{x--2}$$

etc
