you said add the exponents which is correct but you multiplied
$$\\(2.48*10^7)(3.5*10^{-12})\\ =2.48*10^7*3.5*10^{-12}\\ =2.48*3.5*\;\;10^{7-12}\\ =2.48*3.5*\;\;10^{-5}\\$$
