2/9+1/3 can ya'll find the sum?

You need a common denominator. The closet common denominator is 9. Therefore you multiply 1/3 by 3/3 or 1, to get x/9. In this case x=3. Then you add them together, 2/9+3/9=5/9. Reduce if you can but you cannot. So the sum is 5/9
