2x^2 -5 = 7 - 3x

$$\\2x^2 -5 = 7 - 3x\\
\mbox{add 3x and subtract 7 from both sides.}\\
2x^2+3x -5-7 = 0\\
2x^2+3x -12 = 0\\\\
\mbox{Now a=2, b=3, and c=-12}\\$$

now use the quadratic formula to solve it. Here it is
