3.5x + 7 = 1/2x - 6 What is x?

3.5x + 7 = 1/2x - 6 (subtract 1/2x on both sides)

3x + 7 = -6   (subtract 7 on both sides)

3x = -13     (divide by 3 on both sides)

x = 4.333333333.....(you get the point :)

i know there is already answer, but i thought it would be helpful if i listed the steps

3x+7=-6

3x=-13

x=-13/3
