1.)Numerical expressions have only numbers, algebraic expressions have letters as well as numbers. Like:
2x+3 is algebraic
4+3 in numerical
4 + 20 – 7, (2 + 3) – 7, (6 × 2) ÷ 20, 5 ÷ (20 × 3) are all numerical
4+20xy-7x, (2x+3) - 7y+20, are both algebraic.
2.) An expression has no equal sign and no 'left' or 'right', an equation has all three. For example:
7x=6+1x is an equation. 6+1x is not.
Same with: 3+2x=12-x, <--this is an equation. 3+2x is an expression.
3.) I'm assuming you mean when there can be multiple answers for one problem, like sqrt(4) can be either 2 or -2 because 2*2=4 and -2*-2=4.
Does that help? ^_^
