Neither of those answers will work:

|3(-4) +2| + 6 = 16 does not equal the x value of -4

|3(2) +2| + 6 = 14 does not equal the x value of 2

I don't think this is possible....

|3x| will always be greater than x.....

x is either 2 or -4.
