4(2x-5)/4=11 solve

On the left side you have a 4 in the numerator (as a multiplier) and a 4 in the denominator. 

I would cancel these two numbers.

Then you have: 2x - 5 = 11                       Add 5 to both sides.

     ----->   2x = 16                                  Divide by 2.

     ----->     x = 8

 

Check:    4( 2(8) - 5 ) / 4

              4( 16 - 5 ) / 4

              4( 11 ) / 4

                   44 / 4
