(4+x)(3)+(x)(41)=(8)(x-2)   simplify

12 + 3x + 41x = 8x - 16       combine like term

12 + 44x = 8x - 16              subtract 8x from both sides and subtract 12 from both sides

36x = -28                            divide both sides by 3

 x = -28/36 = -7/9
