When solving this equation: 4*x/5+3/10=1/2, why do we multiply by 5/4 after we have removed the 3/10?

 (4/5)x+ 3/10=1/2      subtract 3/10 from botyh sides

(4/5)x =  1/2 - 3/10

(4/5)x =  [10 - 6] / 20

(4/5)x =  4/20

(4/5)x = 1/5       note that we want to get "x" by itself.....the easiest way to do this is to  multiply both sides by the reciprocal of 4/5  =5//4....so this leads to

x = (1/5) * (5/4)    =   1/4
