by saying "in a decimal", I'm assuming you mean decimal form
type "5 / 8" in a calculator
the answer you should get is 0.625
if you cannot do calculator method, use long division
make sure to put 8 to the left of the half box and 5 inside the half box
If you correctly calculate your answer, you should still get 0.625
