5. Evaluate the following equations given A=5, B=4, C=3, D=12:

a) Q = (D+A) MOD 5 * 3 + B / 2

b) Q = D / 5 + MAX (A, B, C) \ 4

c) Q = ABS (C – A) + 2 ^ C

d) Q = D * 2 – AVERAGE (B, A, 3)

e) Q = D \ A * 6 – SQRT (24 – 8)

f) Q = (A+B) \ D - C

 A=5, B=4, C=3, D=12

 

 

a) Q = (D+A) MOD  5 * 3 + B / 2

Q =  (12 + 5) MOD 5 * 3 +   4 / 2

Q  = 17 MOD 5 * 3  +  2

Q  =  2 * 3  +  2 

Q =  6 + 2

Q =   8

 

BTW.....WolframAlpha interprets this as  (12 + 5) MOD ( 5 * 3 +   4 / 2)

17 MOD (15 + 2)  =  17 MOD 17  =  0

 

 

b) Q = D / 5 + MAX (A, B, C) \ 4

Q =  12/5 + MAX (5,4,3) / 4  

Q  =  12/5 + 5/4

Q =  [ 48 + 25 ]  / 20

Q  =  73  / 20

 

 

c) Q = ABS (C – A) + 2 ^ C

Q = ABS(3 - 5) + 2^3

Q =  2  + 8

Q  =  10

 

d) Q = D * 2 – AVERAGE (B, A, 3)

Q = 12 * 2 -  [ 4 + 5 + 3] / 3

Q = 24 - [ 12 / 3 ]

Q = 24 - 4

Q = 20

 

e) Q = D \ A * 6 – SQRT (24 – 8)

Q = 12/ 5 * 6 - SQRT (16)

Q =  72/5 - 4

Q  =  72/5 - 20/5

Q = 52 / 5

 

f) Q = (A+B) \ D - C

Q =  (5 + 4) / 12  - 3

Q = 9 / 12  -  3

Q = 3/4  - 3

Q = 3/4 - 12/4

Q = -9/4
