5p + 7 - 5p = -7(p – 3)

5p-5p is 0 so the first step is super easy.

7=-7(p-3)

Now there are different things that you can do but the easiest is probably to divide both sides by -7

7/-7 = -7/-7*(p-3)

-1 = 1(p-3)

-1=p-3

-1+3=p-3+3

2=p

p=2
