6. A salsa recipe uses green pepper, onion, and tomato in the extended ratio 2 : 5 : 8. How many cups of onion are needed to make 105 cups of salsa?

There are   2 + 5 + 8   =   15  parts.....and  the onion  is  (5/15)  = 1/3

So.....  105 (1/3)   =  35  cups of onion

7. The measures of the angles of a triangle are in the extended ratio 2 : 3 : 5. What is the measure of the smallest angle?

There are  2 + 3 + 5    =  10  parts.....

And the smallest angle is  2/10  of this

So.....(2/10) 180   =  2 * 180 / 10   =  2 * 18   =   36°
