You have  ft/hr  if you divide it by ft/mile you will have your answer.....

ft/ hr = 607200            ft/mile = 5280

(ft/hr) / (ft/mile)  =  (ft/hr) x (mile/ft)  =  mile/hr    right?  (because 'ft' cancels out)

sooooo substitute some values in there:

(ft/hr) / (ft/mile)  =   607200 / 5280 = 115 mile/hr

A go-kart's top speed is 607200 feet per hour. What is the speed in miles per hour?

=115 mph  (miles per hour)

88ft/s = 60mph

607200ft/ hr = 607200/3600 = about 506/3 ft/s

So

60 / 88 = x / [506 / 3]    cross-multiply

[506 / 3] (60)  = 88x      divide both sides by 88

[ (506 / 3) (60) / 88 ] =  115 mph
