the formula is A^2 + b^2 = c^2 A & B being the sides, and C being the hypotenuse.

The pythagoreom theorem is just a formula, used to find the sides of a right triangle

a^2+b^2=c^2

A is one side in a triangle

B is the other side

C is the hypoteneuse, i.e. the side opposite of the 90 degree vertex

plug in each variable, square them, and it should be equal
