what number could replace k in the following problem 48/56=6/K?

There are several ways to do this kind of problem. You could cross multiply and you get your answer. If you do that then you get
48*x = 56*6
48x=336
x=7
Or you could simplify the left side, 48/56. You know 8 goes into both of them so you end up getting 6/7=6/x and you can tell x=7 by looking at that.
