-8z+12=-12 plz help asap what is the answer and what does z stand for??!?

'z' is just an unknown to solve for ...it could be 'x'

-8x + 12 = -12        subtract 12 from both sides

-8x = -24                divide both sides by -8

x = 3     (or z = 3)

-8z + 12= - 12

-8z= -12-12

-8z= -24

Because both are negative, we can just take them as positive

8z=24

z= 24/8

z=3
