First, get a common denominator for both fractions. You have 12 and 8, find the least common multiple between those two and that'll be your denominator for both fractions! Note that you changed the denominator by multiplying by some number, so you have to multiply the numerator by the same number!

 

Then, just add your fractions together and that's it. Divide if you wish to obtain a decimal answer.
