A 10.0 Ω resistor is in parallel with a 30.0 Ω resistor and supplied by a 45.0 V battery. What is the total current drawn from the battery?

338 A

0.003 A

6.00 A

1.10 A

Have you seen this?

the resultant resistance of two resistors in parallel  =   (r1 x r2) /(r1+r2)  = 300/40 = 7.5 ohms

V=IR     or     V/R = I        45 v /7.5 ohm = 6.00 A

You could still do it this way:

1 / (1/r1 + 1/r2)     =  1 /( r2/(r2 *r1)  + r1/(r2*r1) )     =  R2 * R1 /( R2+R1)     See how it works out?  ONLY with TWO resistors in parallel though !
