A 35-foot long ladder is leaning against the wall of a building. How far from the ground is the top of the ladder and how far from the base of the building is its foot if it makes a 20 degrees angle with the wall?

Draw the diagram.  (a right angled triangle)  the ladder is the hypotenuse.

the angle you have been given is at the top of the triangle.

you need to find the other two sides.

Use cos to find the height up the wall.

Use sin to find the ground distance.  :))
