A cone-shaped paper cup is 7 cm high with a diameter of 6 cm. If the ivy plant on Julia's desk needs 240 mL of water, about how many paper cups of water will use to water it?(1mL=1cm³)
The volume of a cone is given by
Vc = (1/3) * pi * r2 * h so...if the diameter is 6, the radius = 3 and we have
Vc = (1/3) * pi * 32 * 7 = 65.98cm3
And 240cm3 / 65.98 cm3 = about 3.6 cups !!!!
