A line with slope 6 bisects the area of a unit square with vertices (0,0), (1,1), (0,2), and (-1,1). What is the y-intercept of this line?

The folllowing pic  shows something interesting :

Any  such line with the form    y = mx +  b      where  b = 1   will always  divide the square into congruent quadrilaterals

So....the y intercept =  1
