Problem:

--------------------------------

When the fraction \(\frac{1}{228}\) is expressed in base \(12\) is it terminating or repeating?    (changed back to the question that was asked - Melody)

--------------------------------

Can somebody walk me through the first few steps but not give me the answer? I'm kinda stuck..

This is also due today, so I really need some helpt right now..

Thanks!

I just realized that I accidentily wrote 228 and not XXX as the denominator.. Sorry for the confusion!

FORGET THAT VIOLYX!!

We have been looking at this for days and you have been too uninterested to even follow our discussion!

Just go away and do your own homework!

By long division,

1/228 = 0.0076b45076b4507b.... in base 12,

so it is repeating.

I would like you to expand on that answer please.

I think you have copied that answer and have no understanding of how to do it.

Thanks very much guest.

It is not as easy as the other one that I did.

(this is 228 not 288)

So I am still at a loss.

It does equal   (10/15 * 0.01) base  12     ....    to me that looks recurring.  I really do not know.
