In the x y-coordinate plane above, line l contains the points (0 comma 0) and (1 comma 2). If line m (not shown) contains the point (0 comma 0) and is perpendicular to l, what is an equation of m?

Can you resolve this problem?

The slope of the first line, l, is given by :

[2 - 0 ]  / [1 - 0 ]  =  2

Line m will have a negative reciprocal slope  =  -1/2

And since this line contains the point (0, 0 ) , its equation  is just    y = (-1/2)x

Here's the graph of both lines.........https://www.desmos.com/calculator/ryqoh2tezn
