A ramp used to load vehicles on to a truck is 15 feet long.  The ramp makes a 35 degree angle with the ground.  Find how high the upper end of the ramp is above the ground

We can use the sine here

 

sin 35  = h / 15      where h is the ramp height

 

Multiply both sides  by 15

 

15 * sin 35  = h  ≈  8.6 ft
