A theater company has raised $870.75 by selling 25 floor seat tickets. Each ticket costs the same.

Part A: Write an equation with a variable that can be solved to correctly find the price of each ticket. Explain how you created this equation. (5 points)

Part B: Solve your equation in Part A to find the price of each floor seat ticket. How do you know your solution is correct? (5 points)

Equation:

25x=870.75

A.

We can let the cost of each ticket be x.

There were about 25 tickets sold, which gives us 25x.

We know that 25 tickets were sold for a total of 870.75$$$

That gives us the equation: 25x=870.75

B.

25x=870.75

x= 870.75/25

x = $34.83 per ticket

I know my solution is right because I am smart...

Nah...jk, I know its right because I substituted the price of each ticket back into the original equation:

25(34.83)=870.75

Since the above equation is true, I know each ticket it work $34.83.
