Also, you didn't have to make a 2nd thread on this.

If there is no friction then the only force in x direction is the 3k N generated by the engine.  so use f=ma to find the acceleration. where f is force (3k) ,m is mass (2k), a is acceleration. 3k/2k = 1.5 m/s^2
