A wheel of radius 30cm is turning about a fixed axis at a rate of 1 1/2 revolutions per minute. What is the angle which the wheel turns in 30 seconds, and the distance moved by a point on the rim in 30 seconds?

It turns through 2pi x 1.5   =  3pi revolutions in one minute......so,  in 30 seconds, it turns through 1/2 of this  =  (3pi/2)

And the distance - (s) - moved by the point is

S = r(Θ)   =  (30cm)(3pi/2)   = [90pi/2] cm = [45pi ] cm =  about  141.37 cm
