2x^2 – 6x + 3

Using the Quad Formula where   a = 2, b = -6 and c = 3, we have

[ -(-6)  plus/minus  sqrt [ (-6)^2 - 4(2)(3]  / [ 2(2)]  =

[ 6  plus/minus sqrt [ 36 - 24] / [2*2] =

[6 plus/minus sqrt (12)] / [2*2]  =

[3 plus/minus sqrt(3)] / [2]  =

[3 + sqrt(3)] / 2   →   (B)

cool cool cool

Sorry.. The answer's look terrible! I'll fix them (:

A. 6 + square root 30

-----------------------------

                 4

B. 3 + Square root 3

-----------------------------

                   2

C. 6+3i Square root 2

------------------------------

                  4

D. 3 + Square root 3

E. -3 + square root 3

----------------------------

               2

Better :)

If you use the Quadratic Formula you'll wid up with

(6 +-  2sqrt3)/4     =    (3 +-sqrt3)/2      So 'B' is one of the roots
