I'm having some trouble with this task..

Decide "a" to make the division complete:

(x^{2} + ax - 2) : (x - 2)

I don't really know what it means to make the division complete, but if a = -1 , then...

\(\frac{x^2+ax-2}{x-2}\,=\,\frac{x^2-x-2}{x-2}\,=\,\frac{(x+1)(x-2)}{x-2}\,=\,x+1\qquad\text{, when}\,x\neq2\)
