3 - (2x - 5) < -4(x + 2)

Applying the destributive property:

3 - 2x + 5 < -4x - 8

Simplifying the left side:

-2x + 8 < -4x - 8

Adding 4x to both sides:

2x + 8 < -8

Subtracting 8 from both sides:

2x < -16

Dividing both sides by 2:

x < -8
